Orbitz drop both to Irish

 

The Orbitz dropped both games to the Irish 14-5 and 3-2.


 
The next game is on Saturday June 5th at Homewood Flossmoor at 1:00 vs the Nuts, which will be one 9 inning game. 
 
 
Sunday will be a double header Sunday at Chicago Ridge 10746 Menard Ave. Chicago Ridge. at 2:30 vs. the Devils.

Orbitz split with Mavericks

Game 1:

The Orbitz wasted a strong pitching performance by Brett Schillaci, as they lost a pitcher's duel in game one, 3-2.  Schillaci threw his 2nd complete game of the season allowing only 1 earned run while striking out 4 Maverick hitters.  The only offense the Orbitz could muster up came on a 2 out rbi single by Dennis Martin in the 3rd inning, and an rbi ground out by Mike Palascak in the 4th. Final score Mavericks 3 Orbitz 2.

Game 2:

The O's got another stellar game on the bump by William J. Arthurs Jr., as he tossed 5 solid innings allowing only 1 unearned run and gave up 3 hits, as he improved to 2-0 on the season.  The offense this game pounded out 16 hits, and were led by Heath Bishop who went 4-4, 1 double, 3 runs scored and 2 rbi's, and William Arthurs 3-4, 3 runs scored, 2 stolen bases, and 1 rbi.  Dennis Martin also added 3rbi's and David Goodwin added 2 rbi's as well.  Most of the damage came in the 3rd inning, as the O's scored 10 runs, all with 2 outs, including 9 consecutive singles by Mike Palascak, Victor Reyes, David Goodwin, Craig Goodwin, Brandon Chaisson, William Arthurs, Dennis Martin, Heath Bishop and Todd Zasadil.  Final Score Orbitz 13 Mavericks 1 - 5 innings.

Orbitz sweep the Pirates

The Orbitz opened the 2010 season against the Pirates in Peotone. Solid pitching and timely hitting were the keys to the Orbitz victory.

 
Game one
Making his Orbitz debut Brett Schillaci went the distance pitching 7 strong innings racking up 12 strikeouts and only allowing 2 earned runs. In the second inning the Orbitz were up 1-0 when Bill Arthurs Jr stepped to the plate and hit a 3 run homerun, his first of his Orbitz career, scoring McCormick (1-4) and Dillard (1-2). Victor Reyes made it back to back jacks when he hit a long fly ball over the left center wall. Also making their Orbitz debut was Brian Palascak going 2-4 with an RBI and Steve Arthurs scoring 2 runs. Final score Orbitz 9 Pirates 2
 
Game two
Bill Arthurs turned in an excellent outing on the mound pitching all 8 innings allowing 2 earned runs and striking out 8 Pirates. The Orbitz got on the board in the second when Eric Lewitke doubled to start off the inning, a passed ball sent him to third, and he came in to score on McCormick’s two out RBI single. The Orbitz tied the game in the sixth inning when Victor Reyes singled and Heath Bishop (3-4) hit a double scoring Reyes. With the score all tied up after 7 innings the game went into extras and after the Pirates scored in the top of the eighth the Orbitz came up. Bishop hit this third double of the day and went to third on Lewitke’s fly out. Brian Palascak took a crucial walk to put runners on first and third. Bishop came in to tie the score at 3 on Matt Dillard’s fielder’s choice, an error on the throw home let Palascak move up to third and Dillard to second. The Orbitz took advantage of the Pirates second error of the inning when McCormick hit a ball to second which was misplayed allowing Palascak to score the winning run. Final score Orbitz 4 Pirates 3
 
Next up the Orbitz take on the Mavericks on Sunday May 16th at 10:00am at Homewood Flossmoor.
